Leeming Senior High School Education Support Centre (SHS ESC) is seeking a motivated and passionate School Psychologist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the individual needs of students with disabilities.
As a School Psychologist you will work collaboratively with teachers, education assistants, administrators, families, lead psychologist and external agencies to support students with complex needs and disabilities. The successful applicant will provide specialist psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions for students with disabilities and consultation at the individual, group, school and system level. A high level of interpersonal and communication skills with knowledge, expertise and experience in disability education (including disability resourcing) will be highly desirable.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing support and expertise in the areas of disability, mental health and wellbeing, risk assessment, behaviour support and intervention, student learning, incident management, and professional learning for staff, parents and caregivers. It would be highly desirable for you to have organisation and problem-solving skills to manage complex cases through case conferences and case management involving a range of stakeholders. Knowledge of the complexity and diversity of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disability will be highly regarded.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements (selection criteria):
1. Ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
2. Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
3. High level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
4. Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
5. Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.

Employees are required to have achieved Advanced Skills School Psychologist status for permanent appointment to this position.
