Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and performing preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
The successful candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with industrial instrumentation and control systems. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to the maintenance and production teams
* Perform routine planned shutdowns and maintain equipment condition to achieve company targets
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and codes
* Assist with breakdowns and conduct troubleshooting analysis as required
* Demonstrate solid knowledge of mechanical and engineering drawings
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting/Machining) or equivalent qualifications
* Experience working with converting-type production lines in an FMCG environment (highly regarded)
* Machining and basic welding experience
* Ability to work overtime hours as required
* Experience using maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP)
* Knowledge and experience in safe working practices and LOTO processes
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Reliable and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
* Quick learner with a can-do attitude
* Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills
* Computer literacy – experience with Microsoft Office programs and other databases
