About the role
As a member of our Station Staff, you're not just a member of the Customer Group; you're the face of V/Line, ensuring every journey is safe, smooth, and enjoyable for our passengers onboard the train. Your role is crucial in delivering top-notch customer service and maintaining high standards on our regional trains across Victoria.
By showcasing your initiative and knowledge of V/Line policies, you'll ensure the safety and satisfaction of our passengers, contributing to V/Line's success and revenue protection.
These positions feature a rotating roster. Shifts can begin as early as 3:30 AM and may also end at 3:30 AM.
Key accountabilities include
* Undertake ticket sales, and seat reservations, maintain ticket stock and manage
* daily bank deposits
* Ensure the station is opened and closed in accordance with operational and security
* Organise and coordinate coaches during special events and service disruptions
* Ensure station presentation is maintained in accordance with internal and external
* Operation of CCTV in accordance with internal operating procedures
* Provide ticketing/fare information, education and assistance to customers.
Location & Travel Considerations
As we are accepting applications for our Bairnsdale station we are expecting candidates to live within 60kms of Bairnsdale to manage fatigue levels on a rotating roster.

You will bring a mature approach, proven success in safety and time-critical environments, and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. You thrive in independent roles and excel under pressure.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following
* Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
* Valid Victorian Driver's License
* 24/7 availability for shift work
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work within rules and compliance frameworks
* Friendly customer service skills
* Strong safety awareness
* Live within 60kms of Bairnsdale
* Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights
