APS6 Graphic Designer (NV1 Security Clearance Required)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced APS6 Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. This is a crucial role for a skilled professional to create high-quality visual content that supports key government initiatives. You will work on sensitive projects, requiring a current and active NV1 security clearance.
You will be responsible for translating complex information into clear, compelling, and visually engaging designs that are accessible to a wide range of internal and external audiences. This is a unique opportunity to apply your design expertise in a secure, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conceptualise, design, and produce a wide range of high-quality visual materials, including presentations, publications, infographics, digital assets, and print media.
* Ensure all design work adheres to departmental branding guidelines and meets accessibility standards (WCAG).
* Liaise with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand project requirements and deliver effective design solutions.
* Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with clients.
* Maintain a high level of confidentiality and security in all aspects of work, in line with NV1 clearance requirements.
* Provide expert advice on visual communication and design best practice to colleagues and project teams.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Current NV1 Security Clearance: Must hold and maintain a valid Negative Vetting 1 security clearance. Applicants without this clearance cannot be considered.
* Demonstrated experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of professional work.
* Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant design software.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present design concepts clearly.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
Desirable
* Experience working within an Australian Government department or a similar public sector environment.
* Knowledge of Australian Government design standards and policies.
* A relevant qualification in Graphic Design or a related field.
