Senior Structural Engineer Position
This role involves the analysis and design of rail mounted machines for materials handling. As a senior civil/structural engineer, you will conduct site investigations and client interviews to determine project scope and cost estimates for the civil/structural aspects of rail mounted machines.
You will lead the design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes ensuring technical expertise meets unique project requirements.
This part-time telework position may require at least three days of in-office attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Key Responsibilities
* Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering including original designs layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, roadways, railroads, etc.
* Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures.
* Specific knowledge of the design, supply, and installation processes for rail mounted stockyard machines.
* Determines the appropriate use of structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete based on load or stress requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience required.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
* Familiarity with DIN ISO and Australian Standards for designing and constructing rail mounted machines.
* Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques preferred.
