Cold Store & Dispatch Supervisor
Location: Katanning, Western Australia
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cold Store & Dispatch Supervisor to join our operations in Katanning, WA. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing product conditioning, storage and dispatch while ensuring compliance, safety, and operational efficiency across the site.
About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Production Manager, you will lead and support employees across storage and dispatch functions, ensuring product integrity, safety standards, and accurate inventory control are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise, train and provide technical induction for leading hands and employees within product conditioning, storage and dispatch
* Ensure all DAFF and AUS-MEAT standards are consistently met
* Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring employees understand their duty of care and that hazards and risks are minimised
* Liaise with the Production Manager regarding storage capacity, production planning and loading requirements
* Work collaboratively with safety representatives and the OHS Manager to address safety concerns in line with Group policies
* Maintain effective and positive industrial relations
* Coordinate with the Plant Engineer on general and preventative maintenance requirements
* Liaise with Boning Room and Slaughter Floor supervisors regarding production flow and storage needs
* Coordinate dispatch activities with contractors and the Perth-based shipping team
* Ensure all outward goods are correctly scanned, port marked where required, and supported by accurate documentation
* Maintain and balance weekly inventory records, ensuring systems remain accurate and up to date
* Identify damaged product or cartons prior to dispatch and ensure return for re-packing
* Authorise store requisitions
* Proactively develop and implement job rotation and employee training initiatives
* Undertake additional duties as required by the Plant Manager
About You
* Proven experience in cold storage, dispatch, or logistics supervision (meat processing experience highly regarded)
* Minimum 1-2 years of supervisory experience in cold storage, dispatch, or logistics operations is required
* Strong understanding of food safety, QA, and regulatory compliance (DAFF / AUS-MEAT)
* Working knowledge of DAFF and AUS-MEAT regulations and compliance requirements is essential
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor and engage teams
* Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety principles
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, particularly in inventory control and documentation
* Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and with external stakeholders
* Must have full working rights in Australia
