Job Title: Work Group Leader
The primary purpose of the Work Group Leader is to supervise a team and ensure the operational integrity and efficiency of assets in a designated section of rail corridor.
Some key responsibilities include:
* Promoting a positive culture within the team.
* Supervising employee and external contractor performance and productivity.
* Maintaining materials, tools, vehicles and equipment to functional standard.
* Conducting systematic inspection and examination of rail infrastructure.
* Ensuring rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition.
* Installing and maintaining mechanical signalling locking and interlocking devices infrastructure and equipment.
* Maintaining aerial signal/telecommunications lines and cables.
* Recommending improvements in maintenance and works processes.
* Completing work group activity sheets and costing for all completed tasks.
Requirements:
* Detailed knowledge of a single rail infrastructure discipline.
* Ability to supervise teams for effective performance.
* Knowledge of or awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
* Safe working qualified (PO1 minimum, PO2 desirable).
* Drivers Licence Class C.
* ARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment.
