Job Title: Deputy General Counsel & Coordinator for Proceeds of Crime Litigation
The Australian Federal Police provides dynamic and effective law enforcement to the people of Australia. As a Deputy General Counsel & Coordinator for Proceeds of Crime Litigation, you will work closely with the Chief Counsel Portfolio to independently litigate proceeds of crime matters under various Acts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team dedicated to delivering business functions to achieve organizational objectives.
* Deliver high-level legal advice to peers, senior executives, and external stakeholders on a wide range of litigation and information management issues.
* Build capability and responsiveness within the business area, contributing to the development of corporate business planning, strategies, and the strategic direction of activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Australian citizenship upon application.
* Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
* Tertiary qualifications in Law and contemporary, relevant, legal knowledge and expertise in the proceeds of crime and confiscation jurisdiction.
* A practising certificate as an Australian Legal Practitioner or the ability to obtain one.
