About the role: Reporting to the General Manager Finance, the Finance Manager is a leadership role within the Corporate Services division, based at the head office in Eastwood. You will lead a team of seven across revenue, accounts payable, finance operations and corporate accounting, acting as a trusted partner to the Senior Leadership team. This role requires a confident and adaptable people leader who can manage a diverse group of individuals with varying experience levels, working styles and personal circumstances. Technical capability is expected but success in this role will be defined by your ability to build trust, communicate effectively and tailor your leadership approach to different personalities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading month‐end close and delivering accurate management reporting by working day 5
* Preparing statutory financial statements and regulatory compliance reporting
* Managing cashflow, treasury and liquidity
* Ensuring integrity of the fixed asset register and capital expenditure reporting
* Leading and supporting AP, AR, receptionist and Corporate Accountant
* Driving continuous improvement across finance processes and systems
* Partnering with senior stakeholders on financial insights and decision making
About you: You are an experienced Finance Manager who enjoys leading people just as much as delivering strong financial outcomes. You are comfortable working with autonomy, value trust over micromanagement and are confident navigating complex stakeholder and people conversations.
You will bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance leadership role
* Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams with empathy and flexibility
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and advanced Excel skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage people from varied backgrounds
* A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset and continuous improvement approach
* High attention to detail, accountability and integrity
Desirable but not essential:
* CPA or CA qualification
* Experience within aged care or retirement living
* Exposure to Epicor or Prophix systems
