Practice Assistant (Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary) – Tax

About the role
Join our highly regarded Sydney Tax team as a Practice Assistant, supporting Partners and their teams within the Tax practice group. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a full-time role for a 12-month contract covering parental leave, where you'll play a key part in delivering exceptional service within a collaborative and supportive environment.
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Preparing, formatting, and amending legal documents
* Handling billing, expenses, and WIP reporting
* Opening and closing files, archiving, and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems
* Building and maintaining strong client and internal relationships
* Liaising with clients, answering calls, and taking messages
* Managing diaries, inboxes, meetings, and travel arrangements
* Providing ad hoc general administrative support as required, including printing and scanning
About You
* Minimum of 2 years in a legal support role (such as Legal Assistant, Practice Assistant, Legal Executive or Legal Secretary)
* Sound knowledge of the monthly billing process in a legal environment - experience with Elite 3E highly regarded
* Typing speed of 70+ wpm
* Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Ability to analyse, problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgement
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, adapting your style to suit your audience.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills enabling you to build effective relationships across all levels
