Manager, Ministerial Coordination and Advice * Salary: $138,631 – $185,518 (plus superannuation) * Fixed term / Ongoing role: Ongoing * Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) * Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (flexibility may be available) The Role Reporting to the Director, Government and Parliamentary Services, the Manager, Ministerial Coordination and Advice is responsible for providing specialist policy advice to the Secretary's Office, executives and senior staff on policy, guidelines and statutory obligations. The role leads the department's ministerial coordination functions, including oversight of parliamentary, cabinet, Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC) and correspondence processes. The position plays a critical role in supporting the department during key activities such as Budget Estimates, caretaker periods, changes of government and ministerial reshuffles, and requires strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively in complex, high-pressure environments. Main Accountabilities * Provide leadership to the Ministerial Coordination and Advice team and contribute to leadership across the Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch. * Deliver trusted, authoritative advice to the department on ministerial, parliamentary, cabinet and PAEC processes, including relevant policies, guidelines and obligations. * Support the Director, Government and Parliamentary Services with coordination of the department's preparation for Budget Estimates Financial Performance and Outcomes (PAEC) hearings. * Assist with caretaker periods, changes of government and other significant ministerial or parliamentary activities. * Manage and continuously improve the department's core business systems supporting correspondence, parliamentary, cabinet and PAEC processes. The Team The position sits within the Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch in the Corporate Services Group. The Branch focuses on uplifting departmental performance, governance and accountability by coordinating ministerial engagement, delivering strategic projects, providing audit and assurance support, and enabling high-quality reporting and business planning to support informed decision-making across the Department. About You You are an experienced people leader with exceptional collaboration and communication skills, able to foster a positive and high-performing team environment aligned to organisational values. You bring strong knowledge and experience in project management and contemporary project delivery practices, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing demands and remain focused and effective under pressure.
