About the Role
We're seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to support a major multi-year transformation within a Federal Government Department. You will design, build, and enhance ServiceNow solutions that underpin essential digital services and modernise enterprise capabilities.
Working in a multidisciplinary delivery team, you'll translate complex requirements into scalable, secure, and user-friendly ServiceNow functionality. This role offers hands-on technical development, stakeholder engagement, platform optimisation, and the opportunity to shape future ServiceNow strategy within the department.

What You Will Do
* Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications, workflows, forms, and scripts.
* Build and support integrations, custom applications, and automated processes.
* Collaborate with analysts, designers, and technical teams to turn requirements into working solutions.
* Enhance existing modules and ensure performance, stability, and long-term maintainability.
* Troubleshoot platform issues, conduct root cause analysis, and deliver effective fixes.
* Perform upgrades, proactive monitoring, maintenance, and platform optimisation.
* Apply ITIL-aligned practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Produce high-quality technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing.
* Help uplift team capability through mentoring and platform guidance.
* Stay current with ServiceNow releases and incorporate new features into the environment.

Skills & Experience We're Looking For
* Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow applications, modules, and integrations.
* Strong proficiency with ServiceNow workflows, scripting (server/client), UI policies, business rules, and customisation.
* Experience working with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, and HR modules.
* Ability to gather and interpret requirements and provide expert technical advice to stakeholders.
* Understanding of ITIL processes and service management best practices.
* Experience monitoring platform health and resolving issues proactively.
* Familiarity with Office 365, SharePoint, and Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, integrations).
* Strong communication and documentation skills, able to translate between business and technical audiences.
* Experience working in agile delivery teams and contributing to continuous improvement.
* ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS-ITSM, CAD) highly regarded.
* Experience participating in ServiceNow implementation or large-scale enhancements.
* Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies in an enterprise environment.
