These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).
ABOUT THIS ROLE
There is a requirement for an EL1 equivalent Systems Engineer to lead complex activities and tasks relating to ICT infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation. This role will plan, organise, integrate and deliver complex systems engineering services and products, whilst working cohesively and flexibly with the broader project team, key business partners and stakeholder groups. The successful candidate will be able to work independently within broad guidelines to contribute to the definition of multiple tranches of work.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidates will facilitate planning, organisation, integration and delivery of complex systems engineering services and products. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for ICT Infrastructure requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification and validation.
Develop systems engineering documentation, system designs, systems maintenance plans, and configuration management plans. Contribute to project plans, ticketing systems, and project timelines.
Analyse complex systems engineering issues across a range of capability elements and apply expertise to identify and recommend courses of action.
Undertake stakeholder engagement to identify business needs. Share knowledge with stakeholders, including giving architectural overviews, presentations, and responses to requested architectural advice.
Document the system designs and implementation processes. Use project tracking tools to monitor the progress of project delivery.
Resolve issues and or problems that arise during capability development projects.
Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
TOP 5 - Provides technical leadership to optimise the performance of IT infrastructure. Investigates and manages the adoption of tools, techniques, and processes (including automation) for system and service management. Oversees the planning, installation, maintenance, and acceptance of new and updated infrastructure components and infrastructure-based services. Aligns with service expectations, security requirements, and other quality standards. Ensures operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date. Ensures operational issues are identified, recorded, monitored, and resolved. Provides appropriate status updates and reports to specialists, users, and managers.
DESN 5 - Designs large or complex systems and conducts impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs. Ensures the system design balances functional and non-functional requirements. Reviews system designs and ensures that appropriate methods, tools, and techniques are used effectively. Makes recommendations, assesses, and manages associated risks. Adopts and adapts system design methods, tools, and techniques. Contributes to the development of system design policies, standards, and the selection of architecture components.
HSIN 5 - Takes responsibility for installation and/or decommissioning projects. Provides effective team leadership, including information flow to and from the customer during project work. Develops and implements quality plans and method statements. Monitors the effectiveness of installations and ensures that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
SINT 5 - Plans and drives activities to develop organisational system integration and build capabilities, including automation and continuous integration. Identifies, evaluates, and manages the adoption of tools, techniques, and processes to create a robust integration framework. Provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of systems integration. Leads integration work in line with the agreed system and service design. Assesses risks and takes preventative action. Measures and monitors application of standards. Contributes to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for systems integration.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Experience with ICT Infrastructure projects highly desirable.
