Reporting directly to the Managing Director and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the role provides strategic insight, commercial leadership and operational support in a high accountability environment.You will be responsible for building reliable forecasting models, improving data accuracy, lifting project level visibility, and ensuring financial information is robust, defendable and aligned to how a contracting business actually trades. This is a hands on, problem solving role with genuine autonomy to uplift systems, discipline, reporting and commercial capability across the organisation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn the accuracy, structure and integrity of financial data across the businessStrengthen month end close, reconciliations, management reporting and audit readinessBuild defensible forecasting, scenario and sensitivity models that support decision makingImprove visibility of pipeline conversion, margin performance, cash and capital impactsLift project level financial insight, cost control and commercial outcomes across live projectsPartner with operations to embed stronger accountability and uplift commercial capabilityParticipate as a key ELT member influencing systems, structure, resourcing and long term growth strategyBuild, mentor and develop a capable finance function aligned to the future needs of the businessSKILLS & EXPERIENCEStrong technical finance capability with experience in project based, contracting or infrastructure environmentsCA or CPA qualified, ideally with foundations in a top tier accounting environmentDemonstrated ability to build, interrogate and defend financial and commercial modelsCommercial mindset with the ability to balance accuracy, pace and pragmatismExperience improving imperfect data environments and building structure where neededStrong communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts clearlyHighly analytical, structured thinker with comfort operating in ambiguityPERSONAL ATTRIBUTESCalm under pressure and decisive in complex, time sensitive situationsCommercially minded, outcomes oriented and motivated by continuous improvementStrong leadership capability with a collaborative, constructive style
