Here at St John Ambulance Queensland we are looking for volunteers to join our government-funded ACVVS (Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme). Our volunteers are the heart of this program and we support you every step of the way, matching volunteers with general interests to ensure long‑lasting friendships.
We are looking for kind‑hearted individuals to visit aged care facilities for one hour, once a fortnight, in the Mackay region.
These visits could include: having a cup of tea, getting involved in a simple activity together, reading, singing along to music or having a yarn.
* Must be over the age of 18
* Willingness to undergo a free national police check
* Committed for the long run
* Be patient, compassionate and a good listener
