ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive Manager, the Chief Corporate Services Officer is a key strategic partner in driving the development and execution of corporate services across the Academy. You will lead critical functions including financial strategy, compliance, IT and digital infrastructure, facilities and asset management, risk, and organisational operations.

As the Academy continues to grow, your role will evolve—shaping scalable corporate systems, mentoring high-performing teams, and embedding best practice across all operational areas. Your work will directly support our mission of Building Better Men, ensuring our foundations are strong, sustainable, and future-ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic and Financial Leadership

Lead strategic budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and long-term financial modelling to ensure financial sustainability and readiness for future investment.

Oversee all financial reporting, compliance, and audit processes, ensuring transparency and alignment with regulatory requirements.

Develop robust funding strategies, manage government grants, and maintain strong financial governance frameworks.

Support educational innovation through strategic financial planning and resource allocation.

Corporate Services Oversight

Provide executive oversight of finance, IT, asset management, payroll, and employee compliance functions.

Oversee risk management, governance, insurance, and business continuity planning to safeguard the organisation and ensure operational resilience.

Lead the financial management and planning of facilities, infrastructure, and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects in alignment with long-term growth objectives.

Organisational Development and Leadership

Mentor and lead multidisciplinary teams across finance, administration, operations, and corporate services.

Drive continuous improvement by streamlining systems, processes, and performance metrics (KPIs) for effective service delivery.

Contribute to strategic planning, workforce capability building, and operational execution at an executive leadership level.

Lead change initiatives, including the implementation of new systems such as Employment Hero for payroll.

Technology and Digital Infrastructure

Develop and maintain IT systems and digital infrastructure to support internal operations and program delivery.

Ensure a secure, connected, and innovative technology environment that aligns with organisational needs and future growth.

Asset and Facilities Management

Oversee the lifecycle management of physical and digital assets, ensuring accurate tracking, depreciation, and optimisation for operational and financial efficiency.

Provide financial leadership for property acquisition, upgrades, and capital infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.

Business Administration and Risk Management

Streamline administrative operations and embed a proactive, organisation-wide approach to risk, compliance, and governance.

Ensure all corporate services align with the organisation's values, risk appetite, and strategic objectives.

You are a strategic and values-driven leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and systems that enable long-term organisational success. With a passion for operational excellence and impact-driven leadership, you bring:

Extensive senior-level experience in financial and corporate services leadership, ideally within education, non-profit, or purpose-led sectors.

A strong track record in budgeting, forecasting, audits, funding strategies, and compliance across complex environments.

Proven experience overseeing IT, infrastructure, property, and asset portfolios, with an ability to align operational functions with strategic growth.

A collaborative and empowering leadership style that drives innovation, builds internal capability, and fosters cross-functional alignment.

Strong commercial and financial acumen, complemented by a forward-thinking, solution-oriented mindset.

A commitment to continuous improvement, governance excellence, and delivering systems that support inclusive, future-focused educational outcomes.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, Business Administration.

CPA or/and CA accreditation strongly preferred.

Membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ, Governance Institute of Australia).

Proven executive or senior leadership experience in corporate services, ideally in the education or non-profit.

Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, ACNC and ASIC compliance requirements, audit frameworks, and government funding/reporting obligations relevant to independent schools and not-for-profit organisations.

Experience overseeing or implementing enterprise systems (e.g., payroll, finance/ERP, or student management systems).
