Bwgcolman Community School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our team. As part of Queensland's Wellbeing Workforce, you'll work closely with students and families, providing vital support for mild to moderate mental health concerns.
You'll collaborate within our student support team to enhance access to wellbeing and mental health services, helping create a stronger, healthier school community. Be part of a statewide initiative ensuring every student has access to a wellbeing professional, right where they need it most.
Who We Are
Bwgcolman Community School is a National Partnership Kindergarten to Year 12 school located on tropical Palm Island, 65km north-northwest of Townsville in the Outstanding Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Key Responsibilities
Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
Administer specialised psycho-educational assessment of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties including assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning.
Coordinate or assist in the implementation of specific professional in-service training programs for teachers, parents, schools and other professionals.
Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
