They are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Civil Designer to join their Cairns team.
Your new role
As a Civil Designer, you will be responsible for designing and drafting essential infrastructure projects across various disciplines, including bulk earthworks, roads, intersections, stormwater, sewerage, water systems, and erosion and sediment control. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to a growing design team.
Key tasks include:
* Preparing concept and preliminary designs, detailed modelling, and presentation drawings.
* Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and senior staff while mentoring cadet designers.
* Providing technical training to junior drafting team members and ensuring design standards align with industry best practices.
* Managing cost estimates, bills of quantity, and detailed design reports.
* Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and quality assurance processes.
* Maintaining proficiency in 12D Model and AutoCAD software.
* Adhering to Quality Management System.
What you'll need to succeed
* An associate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated experience in civil design projects.
* A strong understanding of civil infrastructure design principles.
* Proficiency in 12D Model and AutoCAD, with experience in Department of Transport projects is highly regarded.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
* A proactive, self-motivated approach, eager to work within a dynamic team environment.
