QuIHN is a statewide, not for profit, and non-government health service which provides a variety of health services to people who use substances throughout Queensland across three service areas:
Therapeutic Services;
Harm Reduction Services; and
Better Access Medical Clinic.

Full time – 33.75 hours per fortnight (9 days)

Location – Sunshine Coast

In this role you will respond to the complex needs of individuals and/or families through the provision of clinical counselling, therapeutic or psychosocial group work and case management approaches for clients affected by substance use and other related concerns such as mental health.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive drug and alcohol and mental health assessments.
* Collaboratively develop treatment plans working toward the achievement of client‑identified goals.
* Provide clinical counselling utilising evidence‑based therapeutic modalities and strength‑based practice.
* Provide harm reduction and relapse prevention in accordance with evidence‑based practice and appropriate clinical care standards.
* Facilitate or co‑facilitate psychosocial education and support groups.


What we're looking for

* Someone who is passionate about their work and the health outcomes of both clients and the broader community and can demonstrate:
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Eligibility for professional registration with a relevant professional association (Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Psychological Society via the AHPRA, Australian Counselling Association, Queensland Counsellors Association, and/or Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia).
* Relevant qualification in Psychology, Social Work or other related discipline – postgraduate qualifications preferred.
* Ability to engage and work with vulnerable and complex individuals and/or families affected by substance use and other related concerns.
* Ally of the AOD community or have lived or living experience of substance use, as well as experience working with marginalised and disadvantaged populations.
* Intermediate competency in the use of Microsoft packages.
* Current Queensland driver's licence (or equivalent).
* Availability to work between the hours of 8:30am – 7:00pm, Monday‑Friday.
