About the role
We are seeking an experienced hands on Cost and Financial Accountant to join the finance team for The Dural Wines Group. Managing the finance function for core brands Yarra Yering, Kaesler and Small Valley. This is a full-time permanent position, a hands-on role supported by the shared services team taking responsibility for the Finance function of the winery businesses. Supported by the shared services team based in Nairne SA, this key role will play a key part in the financial accounting and reporting processes of our growing wine production and distribution business
What you'll be doing
* Demand / production forecasting and reporting
* Vintage wine costing, including tracking, analysing, and reporting on cost of production and monthly production variances
* Monthly inventory analysis including margin reporting, bulk wine reporting, WIP and finished goods movements and analysis
* Month end board reporting
* General ledger management, reconciliations and management reporting
* Budgeting and forecasting
* Assist with the management of tax compliance, including liaising with external accounting firms
* Assist with management of cash flow, reporting and forecasting requirements
* Building relationships with the banks and external suppliers
* Key stakeholder in system improvements and efficiencies
What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or similar;
* Preferred: CA/CPA qualification + at least 5 years of experience;
* Proven experience in cost accounting within the wine or beverage manufacturing industry.
* Strong understanding of wine production processes, inventory flows, and wine sector terminology
* Hands-on experience with Ezy Wines
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
* Solid knowledge of accounting standards and financial principles and practices;
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills;
* Strong business partnering skills, drawing on open communication with remote teams;
* A positive attitude and the resilience to work in a changing environment;
* Strong cost accounting and reporting knowledge;
* Solid risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
