About the Role
The Automated Water Management Professional will report directly to the Climate Systems Lead and will be responsible for ensuring all irrigation and nutrient feeding requirements are followed accordingly and in line with quality guidelines. They will identify and escalate irrigation issues throughout the glasshouse and may be involved in minor repairs and modifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of irrigation and fertigation principles and will be able to troubleshoot problems efficiently.
Responsibilities:
* Coordinate the day-to-day functions of other production operators in the respective areas
* Facilitate training for new and current operators with all associated duties
* Perform daily climate and irrigation feed checks in line with programmed parameters scheduled by Connext and provide feedback to the Climate Systems Lead
* Analyze Grodan GroSens and Connext fertigation data to make informed crop decisions
* Liaise with the Climate Systems Lead for operation of the Mildura fertigation system, including formulation of concentrated solutions, sampling of nutrient recycle solution, water systems checks, and calibration of pH probes
* Promote a safe working culture within the fertigation area and wider Cultivation team
* Perform irrigation maintenance on drip feed lines
* Liaise with the Climate Systems Lead to resolve crop issues and drive yield improvements associated with fertigation
* Liaise with the Climate Systems Lead for Mildura fertigation projects and equipment qualification activities
* Manage raw material and fertilizer inventories and generate purchase requests through Sage X3 (ERP)
* Ensure records are evaluated and signed in line with Good Documentation Practices
* Maintain a clean working space within the Fertigation Room, adhering to cleaning schedules and process outlined in SOPs
* Utilize appropriate processes and systems to report business, safety, and quality issues
* Direct and assist Production Operator – Cultivators in performing related duties
* Drive the continuous improvement of systems and processes within the cultivation team
* Additional duties as required
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Science, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or related field would be highly regarded
* Pre-employment Security and Health Screening
* At least 3 years' experience within a production horticulture role - preferably within the Medicinal Cannabis industry
* Demonstrated track record of providing workable solutions in an emergent business
* Experience in regulated environments (GMP, GACP, ODC, TGA) is highly regarded
