Vitil are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Officer on a permanent part-time basis (4 days per week), ideally Monday to Thursday, working from our office in West Perth.
The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to deliver tailored payroll, and financial support aligned with the needs of the business.
As the individual develops a deeper understanding of the organisation's operations, there will be opportunities to contribute to process improvements and enhance financial administration practices across the Group.
The Role
Manage the Group's end-to-end payroll function, including award interpretation, agreement compliance, and resolution of payroll enquiries.
Administer statutory payroll obligations across all states, including payroll tax, superannuation, child support payments, and related reporting.
Prepare and reconcile payroll-related accounting entries such as General Ledger journals, leave provisions, and reclassification adjustments.
Oversee payroll reconciliations and associated billing, including payroll tax reconciliations and wage on-charge invoicing.
Support workers' compensation processes, including lodging claims, coordinating payments, managing wage reimbursements, and assisting with annual wage declarations.
Prepare and distribute employment-related documentation, including annual bonus and salary review letters.
Complete monthly payroll–finance system reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare key operational and financial reports, including weekly roster costings and monthly/quarterly PAYG reports.
Monitor and review excess leave balances on a quarterly basis and maintain the monthly employee kilometer register.
Provide ad hoc reporting and administrative support.
Requirements
5 + years of payroll experience.
Proven experience with Employment Hero essential.
Proven experience with BAS, PAYG, AP/AR.
Strong organizational skills and office management ability.
Demonstrated experience and responsibility with financial reporting.
High integrity and attention to detail.
Flexible and willing to perform ad hoc tasks when required.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
Experience working within a national organisation; including exposure to multiple payroll tax jurisdictions - highly desirable.
