The Compliance & HR Officer (NDIS – SIL) is responsible for ensuring the organisation's ongoing compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct, and relevant legislation, with a specific focus on Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. The role combines compliance and human resources responsibilities, ensures internal systems and documentation are audit-ready at all times, supports NDIS audits, and maintains workforce compliance across SIL services.

Key Responsibilities

NDIS Compliance, Audit & SIL Home Readiness


• Ensure all SIL homes, internal systems, and records demonstrate compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators


• Lead preparation for NDIS certification and verification audits, including re-registration audits


• Act as the primary liaison with NDIS auditors and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission


• Coordinate audit logistics, evidence submission, staff interviews, and site readiness


• Manage audit findings, including non-conformities, corrective action plans, and evidence close-out within required timeframes


• Conduct internal audits and SIL site compliance reviews to ensure ongoing readiness

Systems & Document Control (NDIS Audit Aligned)


• Ensure documented systems and processes are in place to demonstrate compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards


• Implement and maintain a controlled document management system, ensuring all records are current, approved, version-controlled, and accessible


• Ensure audit evidence is accurate, traceable, secure, and readily retrievable


• Maintain document control registers including document ownership, review dates, and approval status


• Ensure access controls protect participant and staff information in line with privacy obligations


• Identify and address system gaps likely to result in audit non-conformities

Human Resources & Workforce Compliance


• Manage recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and offboarding


• Ensure compliance with NDIS Worker Screening, qualifications, and mandatory training


• Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready staff records


• Support performance management, conduct, and disciplinary processes

Microsoft Administration & Information Management


• Administer Microsoft 365 systems, including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive


• Maintain secure, structured document storage and information governance systems

Training & Continuous Improvement


• Deliver compliance, HR, and audit readiness training


• Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
