Manager Audit Location - Parramatta Employment type – Temporary full-time role for 6 months with the possibility of an extension Salary - $149,739.00 pa - $173,174.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role Internal audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an agency's operations. It helps an agency accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The Internal Audit team provides an independent and objective review and advisory service to: • provide assurance to the Secretary, and the Audit and Risk Committee, that the Department’s financial and operational controls, designed to manage the Department’s risks and achieve the entity’s objectives, are operating in an efficient, effective, and ethical manner; and • assist management in improving the Department’s business performance. What you’ll do • Manage the development of the Strategic Internal Audit Program (SIAP) in conjunction with the Chief Audit Executive through extensive stakeholder consultation across the organisation. • Manage and deliver internal audit reviews across operational, IT, financial and compliance areas in line with the SIAP and management requests. • Ensure internal audit projects and advisory activities are delivered on time and to a high standard, in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter, NSW Government policies and the Global Internal Audit Standards. • Prepare and coordinate Internal Audit reports and papers for the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), and support responses to requests from external agencies such as the Audit Office of NSW, Ombudsman and ICAC. • Monitor and report on the progress of audit recommendations, provide updates to the ARC, and support management to address audit findings and risks. • Maintain quality standards across internal audit activities and support continuous improvement in line with the DCJ Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP). • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and provide advice on governance, risk management and internal controls. • Manage internal audit resources including staff, projects and budget, while supporting team performance and development.
