Software Engineer
Location: Southport, Gold Coast, Australia. The role is based full-time in our Southport office on the Gold Coast. You must be comfortable working Monday to Friday, in‑office alongside the product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities
* Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems using Node.js
* Develop and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs to power game and platform features
* Collaborate with the Unity team to ensure smooth backend‑to‑frontend integration
* Design and manage database schemas (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) for performance and integrity
* Contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments
* Partner with front‑end developers, designers, and product stakeholders
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years commercial backend development experience
Required Skills
* Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or other modern databases
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment best practices
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
Preferred Skills
* Experience integrating backend services with Unity or other game engines
* Passion for education, fintech, or building experiences for families and kids
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Experience with Docker and containerisation
