We are seeking a skilled and artistic Pastry Chef/Pastry Cook to join our team. As a Pastry Artisan, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality pastries and desserts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pastry professional to contribute their expertise to our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, creativity, and attention to detail in the production of artisanal viennoiserie, pastries, and desserts.
* Production & Pastry Arts:
o Craft a variety of artisanal viennoiserie (croissants, danishes, brioche) and pastries from scratch.
o Prepare, laminate, and shape doughs to create unique flavor profiles and textures.
o Bake, finish, and decorate tarts, cakes, eclairs, and other individual pastries with precision and artistry.
o Develop and prepare fillings, creams, custards, and glazes from scratch.
* Quality Control & Preparation:
o Inspect raw ingredients for freshness and accuracy, measuring and weighing components to exact specifications.
o Taste-test and evaluate product consistency, flavor, and visual appeal, adjusting techniques as needed to maintain high standards.
o Develop and follow standardized recipes while also contributing creative ideas for new seasonal offerings.
* Equipment & Workspace Maintenance:
o Conduct thorough checks of pastry equipment and work areas before production to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
o Clean and maintain all tools, including mixers, sheeters, piping bags, and molds, to uphold hygiene and operational efficiency.
o Operate and maintain specialized pastry equipment safely, such as planetary mixers, dough sheeters, and convection ovens.
