About the Opportunity

Manage supply chain activities for select business categories to ensure business level of service requirements are met and value for money is delivered. Supply chain activities will include the whole of life engagement with suppliers from sourcing to commercial engagement, management, and compliance. The position will be the subject matter expert for the categories and provide advice to internal stakeholders.

What's Involved

* Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with suppliers to service categories
* Continuous review of suppliers available in the market servicing the categories
* Continuous review of market conditions influencing categories
* Engage with internal stakeholders to identify business needs
* Identify areas of improvement in business practice, supplier engagement and or contract terms
* Control supplier engagement within the business, acting as single point of contact for commercial discussions

You'll Need

* Tertiary level qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Contractual Law, or relevant area
* Ability to analyse procurement data and develop a supplier engagement strategy that delivers sustainable procurement practise
* Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
* Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
* Working experience using procurement functions in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment
* 10+ years of Supply Chain/Procurement experience
* CIPS qualifications in category management
* Experience in the Defence or Maritime/Shipbuilding industry, or equivalent
