The Role of a Supply Planner
To meet customer needs efficiently and effectively, the supply planner reviews and monitors production and allocates inventory to distribution centers worldwide. The supply planner also monitors inventory positions and rebalances inventories as needed to ensure timely use.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Manage supply for assigned products to meet customer service objectives while achieving inventory targets.
* Allocate product to market distribution centres based on available to ship notifications from manufacturing plants and raise purchase orders accordingly, replenish satellite DCs, and rebalance inventory between warehouses as necessary.
* Provide support to inter-company markets and Customer Service in obtaining expected availability dates and supply information for backorders, low stock items, new business opportunities, tenders, and new product launches.
* Communicate potential back-order risks or manufacturing overstock reviews to manufacturing plants.
* Align priorities with manufacturing plants and commercial teams when supply is less than demand.
* Work closely with internal or external suppliers to support new product launches: obtain initial forecasts, arrange manufacture of launch quantities, and set up master data.
* Participate in supply chain-related project teams.
* Resolve shipping discrepancies, invoicing errors, and damage claims with manufacturing plants and distribution centres, and correct master data as needed to prevent future discrepancies.
