Offer description

- Permanent opportunity
- Hybrid working and flexible work arrangements available
- Don’t just work for the city, co-create it!

At the City of Newcastle (CN), our Property Services team is a dynamic and integrated service element comprising four specialist teams that span the entire property lifecycle, from strategy and project delivery, transactions, property portfolio management through to development. We are committed to delivering community-centred outcomes and optimising the value of Council-owned assets.

A rare prospect has become available for an experienced and results-driven Property and Strategy Delivery Lead to join our team. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will oversee a talented team responsible for initiating and managing capital works projects that enhance or reposition Council-owned land and buildings. Your work will directly contribute to CN’s strategic objectives and deliver tangible benefits to our community

As a member of our team, you won't just work for the city; you’ll co-create it. Here, your ideas and efforts directly shape the places where you and your community live, work, and play. You will lead the strategy and delivery of capital works projects across CN’s property portfolio, ensuring that asset value is optimised and aligned with community needs and Council priorities. You will provide expert advice and project leadership to internal stakeholders across diverse property initiatives and collaborate with the Property Transactions team to manage property dealings under the Land Acquisition Act. Your leadership will drive innovation and best practice in property strategy, planning and execution, while ensuring compliance, governance, and risk management across all property-related activities.

You will bring proven experience in property strategy, capital works delivery and stakeholder engagement, along with strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams. A deep understanding of property lifecycle management and public sector frameworks is essential, as is demonstrated knowledge of the Land Acquisition Act. You will also possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications in property, planning, project management, or related fields.

And we’ll be there for you in important times in your life. We embrace versatile work arrangements to find a balance that allows us to enjoy the city we shape. If you’re ready to lead transformative property initiatives and make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.
