We are seeking a Study Coordinator with a strong focus on clinical trial start-up and regulatory activities to support the efficient activation and delivery of clinical trials across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).

In addition to coordinating ethics and governance processes, this role will support study budget development, financial review, and contract negotiation activities, working closely with investigators, sponsors/CROs, Research Ethics and Governance Offices, Finance teams, and Legal Services. The position plays a key role in ensuring study budgets are accurate and aligned with site requirements, and that contractual arrangements support timely trial activation while meeting governance, regulatory and financial obligations.

The Study Coordinator will contribute to the preparation, review and negotiation of clinical trial agreements, support costing discussions with sponsors and CROs, and assist in managing start-up timelines through coordinated budget and contract execution. The role will also support ongoing compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and NSW Health policies.

The ideal candidate is a proactive Study Coordinator with proven start‐up expertise who can efficiently drive ethics and governance submissions, budgets, and contracts in parallel to shorten activation timelines while maintaining strict compliance with GCP, regulatory obligations, and NSW Health requirements. They are a structured and effective communicator who engages confidently with diverse stakeholders, providing concise updates, maintaining clear risk and issue logs, and escalating early with well‐considered options. Highly detail‐driven with a strong compliance mindset, they bring negotiation strength, stakeholder savvy, and the resilience needed to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple studies across various therapeutic areas. The successful candidate will also be flexible in travelling across SWSLHD facilities and collaborating with teams from a wide range of clinical specialties.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated minimum 2 years experience in the field of research and/or clinical trials.
2. Well developed interpersonal, consultation, facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
3. Demonstrated understanding and experience in the ethical requirements for research including the NHMRC National Statement and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
4. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor members of the research team to enhance professional development.
5. Computer skills including proficiency in the use of MS Word and Excel, email, and understanding of database utilisation such as electronic Case Report Forms (eCRF).
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve departmental goals with a customer focused approach.
8. Ability to engage with all stakeholders involved with clinical trial management to meet contractual and protocol requirements.
