About the Role – Electrical Operations Manager
As Electrical Operations Manager and a key leader within this business, you will provide operational leadership across electrical services, leading project delivery and tendering activities and driving business growth. You will oversee resource management, operational planning, and day‑to‑day activities, aligning systems, people, and processes to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a proven track record in operational leadership, the ability to optimise efficiency, and the capacity to balance competing priorities across various sites, projects and work streams. You will play a key part in strengthening client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering and Commercial Management
* Oversee estimating, pricing, and bid preparation for electrical projects.
* Ensure tenders are commercially sound, competitive, and aligned with company goals.
* Support forecasting, margin analysis, and project profitability reviews.
Operational
* Oversee the safe, timely, and cost‑effective delivery of projects.
* Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality systems.
* Manage resourcing across projects, including workforce, equipment, and subcontractors.
* Monitor project progress, KPIs, and operational performance, implementing improvements where required.
* Champion consistent use of job management systems (e.g., SimPro) and reporting tools.
People and Culture
* Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, leading hands, and field teams.
* Foster a high‑performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and safety.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability development within the operations team.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
* Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, partners, and industry representatives.
* Provide expert technical and commercial advice to support client needs.
* Represent Touchstone Systems' values and reputation in the market.
Competence Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Project Management (preferred).
* Electrical trade qualification or engineering degree (required).
* Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in electrical operations.
* Proven success in tendering, estimating, and commercial management of industrial or commercial projects (1–2 years of prior experience).
* Demonstrated experience in resource allocation, project workflows, and implementing safety systems.
* Familiarity with SimPro or similar job management platforms.
* Excellent organisational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in the mining, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors highly regarded.
