As one of the largest Finance functions in Corporate Australia we provide opportunities across Corporate Finance, Shared Services, Commercial Finance, Capital Management, Financial Control, Operations Finance, Project Finance, M&A and Strategy and Planning.

The Opportunity
As the Senior Accountant working in the GP & Inventory team you will support a small team of subject matter experts in providing support to Primary Connect by analysing and optimising the imports business unit overhead position, maintaining balance sheet integrity for import accounts and driving process improvements to enhance the team's capacity and effectiveness.
What you'll do
Support timely and insightful reporting of the Import overhead position and selected balance sheet accounts to the business unit finance teams.
* Ensure reconciliations are prepared effectively, provide a clear description of outstanding items, have appropriate supporting documentation and an action plan for resolution.
* Ensure financial controls are in place and reviewed to comply with accounting policies and standards.
* Drive initiatives and strategies for continual improvement of processes.
* Maintain an effective understanding of business and reporting considerations
* Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a standard, lean and efficient operating model.
* Leverage systems to achieve accounting outcomes that remove manual effort.
* Mentor, coach and manage a small team and foster an industry leading team environment and culture.
What you'll bring
* You will have a finance related degree with a CA or CPA qualification
* 5-10 years relevant experience.
* Strong business partnering skills and effective communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of business partners.
* Able to communicate complex financial information to a broad audience; able to synthesis data and make the complex simple.
* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience driving process improvements.
* Previous people management skills.
* Strong experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, SAP, BPC, etc.
* Experience with SQL, GCP or Tableau will be advantageous.
