Remuneration: $36.38 - $51.08 per hour + 12% Super + Salary Packaging. Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until April 2026. Location: Wallsend Campus. Hours per Week: 24. Requisition ID: REQ. Applications Close: Monday 6th October 2025.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide in-home and clinic-based care tailored to the needs of each family, typically Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.
- Conduct home visits after the birth of a baby and continued clinic appointments to complete milestone checks outlined in the Personal Health Record.
- Offer holistic guidance and support to parents, including breastfeeding advice, sleep and settling support, and tailored parenting strategies.
- Contribute to immunisation programs and audiometry, and participate in service-provided parenting groups.
- Work with a tailored orientation plan delivered by the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to thrive in the role.
Where You’ll Be Working
Hunter New England Health, delivering services across the Greater Newcastle Sector with travel throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, and Port Stephens, bringing care directly into the community.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Successful completion of Child and Family Health nurse qualification, or near completion, which is recognised.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and able to travel for work purposes.
