About the Role
As our Maintenace Technician, you will be responsible for the proactive management of the hospital's operational and maintenance requirements. This hands-on role operates autonomously and is integral to ensuring compliance with legislative standards, accreditation requirements, and Ramsay Health Care policies.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and managing facility maintenance schedules.
* Monitoring and managing supplies and spare parts, including procurement.
* Implementing preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs.
* Coordinating contractors and supervising minor works and maintenance projects.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for essential services.
* Controlling expenditure within agreed budgets.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
* Conducting site inspections, inductions, and work permit processes for contractors.
* Participating in the after-hours on-call roster.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:
* Experience in a Maintenance or Facilities Technician role (hospital experience highly regarded).
* Relevant trade qualifications and hands-on experience in facilities/building services.
* A current driver's licence (mandatory).
* A General Construction Safety Card (White/Blue Card).
* Strong customer service, communication, and computer literacy skills.
* The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and manage competing demands.
* Sound knowledge of WH&S requirements, accreditation/certification processes, and relevant Australian Standards.
* Familiarity with electrical, fire, mechanical, and hydraulic systems (knowledge of the AUSHFG Guideline desirable).

Remuneration
A base hourly rate of $38.00 hourly + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (RHC QLD Support Services Enterprise Agreement).
