Opportunity
We are currently seeking a candidate who has a genuine passion for Electrical and Instrumentation work and is looking for an opportunity to start an Electrical and Instrumentation Apprenticeship.
Our client Wood Australia, based in Lytton, is an international engineering company with a focus in the oil and gas sector.
Undertaking this five-year dual trade apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Electrical and Instrumentation Technician and earn a qualification in UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and UEE31220 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.
Job Details
We are ideally looking for someone who has either started an electrical apprenticeship or has completed a Certificate II in Electrotechnology with some work experience or picked up some experience in the industry and is looking to get into an apprenticeship.
This is a key role in learning the skills and processes to keep the plant's measurement and control systems accurate, safe, and reliable.
You will be involved in hands‐on activities developing your skills relating to scheduled field service maintenance, minor modifications and installation of electrical equipment, plant measurement and control systems as assigned.
You will be using equipment such as apparatus, conductors, insulators, cables, measuring instruments, multimeter, laptop with diagnostic/configuring software, interface for PLC/DCS systems and hand/power tools.
Your key duties will include but are not limited to:
* Install instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters
* Fit and connect control valves, regulators and analyzers
* Run and terminate instrument tubing, cabling and junction boxes
* Assist in commissioning new systems and ensuring they operate correctly
* Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on field instruments and control systems
* Troubleshoot and fault‐find issues in process control systems and instrumentation issues
* Interpret technical drawings, loop diagrams and P&IDs
* Adhere to strict safety protocols
