The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Officer to join a leading national group in the essential services sector. Based in Gold Coast, this role offers the chance to take full ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable function following a recent acquisition. You'll be part of a supportive, family-oriented environment of around 200 employees, working closely with the Finance Manager and Accounts Receivable Officer to drive structure and efficiency across financial processes. This hands-on role suits someone proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in maintaining strong corporate governance. Free parking included.
The Challenge
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will manage a high-volume, end-to-end accounts payable function while assisting with the streamlining of financial processes. Key responsibilities include:
* Processing several hundred invoices weekly, ensuring accurate coding and PAYG statement reconciliation.
* Raising and matching purchase orders, ensuring receipting and compliance with corporate processes.
* Reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices, reimbursements, and payments in MYOB AccountRight and Uptick.
* Conducting account reconciliations and resolving invoice-related queries.
* Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely payments and compliance.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to strengthen workflows and address incorrect coding.
* Maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Assisting with ad-hoc reporting and covering Accounts Receivable duties during leave periods.
The Expertise
We are seeking a candidate who brings:
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an end-to-end accounts payable role, ideally within construction or a large company environment.
* Proficiency in MYOB AccountRight favourable.
* Intermediate Excel skills and proven ability to manage high-volume invoice processing.
* Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to implement structured, efficient workflows.
* Flexibility to support Accounts Receivable when required.
* Strong communication skills and a customer-service focus when liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
