AbilitiesNQ is required to meet government regulations and standards. This is to protect and maintain the safety, health, wellbeing, and quality of life for people using support services. This is also to ensure a safe and comfortable work environment for staff.
‘Compliance’ is the process of ensuring providers meet these requirements and taking actions when they do not. Compliance can be checked through a mix of quality assessments, reviews and staff/client feedback.
* Ensure compliance with AbilitiesNQ policies, procedures, guidelines and documents to ensure compliance with government legislation, regulations, relevant professional standards and contractual brokerage requirements across community, home care and disability services.
* Work with all departments within AbilitiesNQ to build and embed quality frameworks that are aligned to safeguarding services to meet client needs.
* Develop and implement internal audits for quality assurance and continuous quality improvement.
* Evaluate service models and client outcomes, predict and respond to service trends participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement strategies
* Develop effective implementation of the Quality Management System
* Consult with management on findings.
* Reinforce corporate integrity and adherence to ethics, values and standards.
* Receive, review, research and thoroughly investigate suspected ethics and compliance violations.
* Be part of the incident investigation team, design reports with investigation findings and recommendation outcomes. Recommend corrective action and track action items to ensure timely completion.
* Develop and monitor Company Policies, Procedures and service standards and support the implementation of these by the relevant departments.
* Review documents, work practices and completed work to identify areas where changes might be necessary.
* Review employees’ work procedures and provide advice on compliance.
* Develop, review and interpret Company Policy.
* Report and present information to management at regular meetings.
* Conduct inductions and training meetings with groups of staff.
* Provide guidance to employees and managers on ethics and compliance reporting issues and concerns.
* Ensure integration of appropriate policy into the business services and activities
* Maintain the highest integrity and security of confidential information.
* Stay abreast of advances in technology.
* Conduct interviews and complete reference checks
About you
The ideal person for this role would be enthusiastic, understanding, empathetic, an open mindset and importantly passionate about working within the disability sector.
* WWC Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
* NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willing to obtain)
* Current valid driver's licence (Green provisional plates or higher)
* Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
* Reliable vehicle
* Ability to work within a team with a positive attitude
* Previous experience within a compliance and human resource role (desirable)
