Role Description
This is a full‐time, on‐site role based in Maadi, QLD for a Technical Specialist – Sustainability & Environmental Management. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability and environmental management programs, policies, and procedures across the organization. The Technical Specialist will conduct environmental impact assessments, support regulatory compliance, and coordinate data collection and reporting for sustainability metrics and ESG‐related indicators. They will collaborate with operations, engineering, and HSE teams to identify risks and opportunities, recommend mitigation and improvement measures, and support the integration of best practices into projects and daily operations. The role also includes preparing technical documentation, reports, and training materials, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting audits and certifications related to environmental performance and sustainability standards.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability, or a related discipline, supported by a relevant bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
* Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001), sustainability frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements in Australia or similar jurisdictions.
* Ability to perform environmental risk assessments, impact evaluations, and lifecycle or resource‐efficiency analyses, translating findings into practical action plans.
* Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental and sustainability metrics, including use of spreadsheets and relevant digital tools or platforms.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear technical reports, procedures, and presentations and to engage with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, meet deadlines, and work independently on‐site.
* Demonstrated problem‐solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement in safety, environmental performance, and sustainability outcomes.
* Experience in industrial, resources, infrastructure, or manufacturing environments is advantageous, as is familiarity with ESG reporting and climate or energy‐related initiatives.
