About Rawlinna
Rawlinna is located 400km east of Kalgoorlie, WA, on the western side of the Nullarbor (a remote location). Rawlinna is known as Australia's largest operational sheep station and covers 1,000,000 hectares. The station is stocked with merino sheep and shearing is carried out annually.
About you
Your key duties and tasks
- Prepare, cook and serve healthy, nutritious and balanced meals
- Cater for fifteen people (sometimes more)
- Focus on food safety standards and food handling.
- Maintain a clean and structured, fully equipped kitchen
- Coordinate the ordering of dry stores (groceries), fruit and vegetables and maintain adequate supplies to ensure variety within budget, using seasonal produce
Camp Cooking
- Cook for the team when away from the main station kitchen and working from the outstation location or when "camping out"
- Cater for fifteen people (sometimes more)
- Prepare groceries to take when away from the main station kitchen
- Organise cooking equipment and tools when working away from the main station kitchen
- Coordinate orders to meet the needs of the camp cooking
- Carry out other duties when camp cooking as required
What you will need
- Genuine interest in working and living on a remote sheep station
- Passion for food and cooking and experience as a chef, cook, kitchen hand or similar
- Ability to work outdoors and carry out other duties as required
February 2026 start available
Home cooks who would enjoy an adventure in a remote location in Western Australia are encouraged to apply for this role.

Physical Demands
This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10-20 kilos and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.
