The Chief Strategy Officer is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the development and delivery of a range of strategic priorities to support the current and future delivery of health care service to the SALHN community. The Chief Strategy Officer will assist the Chief Executive Officer and board to shape the networks strategic direction and other members of the Executive team to:
- Provide strategic frameworks, create strategy and its support implementation through stakeholder engagement, fostering strong partnerships. 
- Lead strategic implementation through the coordination and connection of strategic activities in the network 
- Steward the network's mission and values 
- Lead clinical and operational service planning by strengthening clinical service delivery to commissioned activity, develop, and implement future service clinical service models aligned to SALHN's strategic pillars - Our Clinical Services, Our Consumer, Our Relationships and Our Research. 
- Lead strategic projects and influence the development and implementation of project management procedures to support the effective outcomes of key strategic and operational initiatives. 
- Lead and support embedding a continuous improvement way of working into business as usual including leading/coaching improvement work and skills development programs as well as develop, maintain and evolve the integrated management system that enables reporting from ward to Board. 
- Lead SALHN's Excellence framework and related performance reporting including maintaining the framework, developing key performance indicators, monitoring including compliance to Service Agreement requirements, other key performance measures and reporting obligations. 
- Lead SALHN's Internal Audit procedures, encouraging engagement, and analysing results to best influence strategy and planning. 
- Develop an effective media and communications strategy for the network. 
- Lead the community engagement strategy and development of key strategic relationships with internal/external partners. 
- Manage complex and competing projects often within short deadlines 
- Responsible for the strategic direction of SALHN's Project Management Office and Continuous Improvement Program 
- Support Board and Executive, and related committees through leading secretariat support function
The Chief Strategy Officer works in partnership with key stakeholders, to deliver safe, co-ordinated, integrated and efficient health outcomes to the community. This includes partnering closely with the Skilled and Clinical Leads, to develop a quality and continuous improvement culture, where accountability and performance for the achievement of consumer focused, integrated and outcomes are embedded in all aspects of service delivery.
The position is required to provide leadership in the achievement of the strategic aims of the South Australian Health Care Plan, SALHN's Strategic Direction and Service Agreement in accordance with government policy, state-wide priorities and directions and identified population needs. Further the position is required to contribute to state-wide planning, services and programs.
