**Who we are**

At YHA Australia, we provide affordable, quality accommodation with purpose. We're committed to creating a more open and welcoming world where connections thrive and experiences matter.

Our network spans 19 uniquely characterful properties across Australia - from the rooftop views of Sydney Harbour YHA to historic cells at Fremantle Prison to eco-retreats nestled in National Parks.

YHA Sydney Harbour, is the home to The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre, an open archaeological site offering hands on archaeological educational experiences for school groups and the general public.

**The Big Dig supports educational outreach, providing many school-aged children with the opportunity to visit the site, and engage with archaeology in a hands-on way. We offer various in-depth, experiential and curriculum linked programs, aimed at connecting the students to the material. Offering several unique programs, delivered through Sydney Learning Adventures, each of which focuses on a particular aspect that the site has to offer, ranging from an exploration of Sydney's early colonial and convict history to the history of Chinese immigration**
***About the role**:
We're looking for a qualified and creative teacher to lead the review, redevelopment, and delivery of curriculum-aligned programs at The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre. This role is pivotal in ensuring our offerings remain engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the 2027 NSW and National Curriculum updates. You'll work closely with Sydney Learning Adventures to design and implement programs that bring history, archaeology, and cultural heritage to life for students from primary and secondary schools as well as the general public.

This is a part time position 3-4 days per week, hours can be flexible.

**What we are looking for**:

- Deep knowledge of the NSW and Australian curriculum, especially upcoming changes
- Experience designing curriculum content in History, Geography, or HSIE
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences
- Strong project management and collaboration skills
- Teaching qualifications and classroom experience
- Bonus: Experience with museums, heritage sites, or archaeological education

**Our Values**

Our values are at the heart of our organisation and the foundation of our culture. They are our compass, guiding our decisions and actions.
- Work together - We open doors for each other as well as our guests
- Give our best - We bring our best selves every day we come to work
- Put our guest first - We know outstanding hosts make great holidays
- Think differently - We see problems as opportunities
- Have fun - We celebrate and enjoy being together

***What's in it for you**
- Travel Perks: Free stays across our network - because we love travel as much as our members do!
- Team Adventures: Opportunities to visit other locations for team building and training
- Discounts: Access to benefits at various stores and across the YHA network
- Growth: Professional development and career opportunities throughout YHA
