Join to apply for the Head of Training Programs role at Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists RANZCOG1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Head of Training Programs role at Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists RANZCOGGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.About the College:The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is the leading standards body responsible for the training and education of specialists and GP obstetricians in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand.Introduction:About the College:The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) is the leading standards body responsible for the training and education of specialists and GP obstetricians in obstetrics and gynaecology in Australia and New Zealand.RANZCOG is committed to the establishment and maintenance of the highest possible standards of practice in women's health and provides programs in training, accreditation and continuing professional development (CPD) that are responsive to the evolving health care needs of women.RANZCOG supports research into women's health and act as an advocate for women's healthcare by forging productive relationships with individuals, the community and professional organisations, both locally and internationally.Description:Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The OpportunityReporting to the Executive Director, Training, the Head of Training Programs (FRANZCOG & Subspecialty) is responsible for:Monitoring and support of trainees undertaking the College’s specialist training program (Fellowship of RANZCOG), and the five subspecialty programs:Certification in Gynaecological Oncology (CGO)Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine (CMFM)Certification in Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU)Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI)Certification in Urogynaecology (CU)Ensuring program standards are adhered to while delivering high quality, compassionate, responsive, and engaging support to trainees, supervisors, Fellows, subspecialists, and other stakeholders involved in FRANZCOG and Subspecialty training program delivery.Key Responsibilities:Operational managementOversee and manage the successful delivery and monitoring of FRANZCOG & Subspecialty training programs ensuring quality, integrity, sustainability, and mitigation of risks.Coordinate timely delivery and quality control of communications (including personal communications) to trainees, training supervisors, larger membership cohorts or other stakeholder groups as required; directly manage requests and queries of a complex, legally focused, sensitive, and/or confidential nature.Coordinate timely delivery and quality control of program data for committees, working groups, and other stakeholders both internally (e.g. committee reports, annual reports, workforce planning etc.) and externally (e.g. AMC reporting data).Approve, edit and coordinate the development or updating of online program services content, official documents and other communications issued through various channels.Provide support, procedural guidance and advice to various College committees, including for progression reviews, reconsiderations, and appeals; attend relevant committee meetings as required (including state/territory committees).Manage and participate in projects, review groups and relevant training-related initiatives or other duties as requested by the Executive Director, Training.Unit leadershipLead strategic planning, annual business planning, and management processes for the unit.Lead risk management planning and responses for the unit and actively identify and assist in the management of external or systemic organisational risks.Oversee and lead budget development for the unit, manage and monitor financial income and expenditure ensuring that this is in accordance with the relevant policy and delegated authorities.Build and maintain strong professional relationships with trainees, Fellows, committee chairs, members and College staff and contribute to cross-college initiatives.Ensure the effective communication of information between the FRANZCOG & Subspecialty Training Programs unit, other units within the Training Directorate, and other directorates/units across the College.Undertake other management duties as requested by the Executive Director, Training.Policy and process improvement, development and innovationIn close liaison with the Education Policy & Governance Coordinator, develop and implement an Education Policy Review plan to ensure currency of Training policies.Identify opportunities to implement new, innovative or streamlined business systems and processes across the team as appropriate.Oversee process review, redesign, and development activities to ensure processes and procedures are streamlined and adverse impacts of change are well managed.Ensure all administrative resources, regulations, policies, guidelines, processes and data associated with the programs are systematised, standardised, efficient, accurate and up-to-date.Team LeadershipProvide day-to-day operational management for unit staff, ensuring integration of Head Office and state/territory-based teams and staff, and clear delineation of roles and responsibilities.Provide leadership to the FRANZCOG & Subspecialty Training Programs unit including the provision of goals, support, guidance, performance management tools and training.In conjunction with the Executive Director, Training, develop and implement sustainability and succession plans for all key functions in the unit.Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment and adhere to all work health and safety requirement.This role requires some out of hours work and occasional travel within Australia and New Zealand. The College offers time off in lieu and flexible working arrangements at times when out of hours work is required.Skills and Experiences:Ko wai koe | About you - Key Selection CriteriaExtensive experience in adult education, training and work integrated learning programs.Demonstrated effectiveness as a strategic service unit manager with the ability to meet operational objectives and facilitate organisational change.Demonstrated experience leading teams of staff to meet the service expectations of a range of internal and external stakeholders.Significant experience working with committees to manage, develop or optimise regulations, guidelines and complaint/appeals processes.Experience in change management and implementation of technology-based improvements to systems and processes.Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, individuals and groups, whilst maintaining positive relationships.Sound judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to problem solve.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and complete tasks within strict timeframes.Demonstrated behavioural capabilities, knowledge and experiences consistent with our Organisational Values.The ideal candidate will have:Tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience in Education, Strategy, Policy, Health, Business or another relevant discipline.Ka whiwhi koe i te aha | What you will get in returnWorking at RANZCOG means enjoying a strong sense of purpose and engaging in meaningful work every day.
