Associate Director, Finance Projects

* Join the Finance & Operations team within Corporate Services, a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport
* Clerk Grade 11/12 with a salary range of $149,739-$173,174 + super & leave loading
* Ongoing full-time role based in Sydney NSW with flexible working options

About the role

The Associate Director Finance Projects will lead, influence and manage the strategic planning, management and delivery of programs and projects across the branch to continuously improve processes, governance, service level agreements and operations.

Some of the key accountabilities of the role include –

* Effectively lead and manage the delivery of strategic and priority Finance & Operations programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and priorities.
* Manage the Office of the Chief Finance and Operations Officer, liaise with stakeholders and action requests to coordinate communication and proactively ensure responses meet deadline.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with Senior Executives and other key leaders across the Department and partner entities, facilitating and ensuring an open and proactive flow of management information.
* Establish project management principles to support key project delivery and oversee risk and governance across major projects.
* Lead and support the CFOO on branch strategic and corporate planning activities and processes, to ensure planning milestones and reporting requirements are satisfied.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

* Experience leading strategic projects, programs or business improvement initiatives in a complex organisation.
* Strong project management capability, including governance, risk management and delivery oversight.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive briefs, reports and strategic advice.
* Outstanding stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse groups.
* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capability, with the ability to simplify complex issues and drive practical outcomes.
* Proven leadership experience and the ability to foster a high-performing, collaborative and achievement-focused culture.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
* Tertiary qualifications in business, economics, commerce, finance, project management or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
* Experience working within government and an understanding of Ministerial processes will be highly regarded.
