Our client is a well-established and highly respected specialist medical group delivering expert plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic services across Southeast Queensland. With multiple established locations spanning Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and the Gold Coast, the organisation is known for its patient-centred approach and commitment to clinical excellence. An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Business Development Manager to support and grow referral networks across our Sunshine Coast sites. This position will be based from the Birtinya location with travel to the Noosa clinic.
The team comprises experienced plastic surgeons and cosmetic nurses with broad expertise across trauma, reconstructive surgery, breast procedures, head and neck cancer reconstruction, skin cancer and melanoma management, as well as a comprehensive range of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic treatments.
Reporting directly to the Surgeons of this group, the Business Development Manager will lead the growth and brand presence of the Sunshine Coast practices with a strong focus on referral engagement, marketing strategy and patient experience optimisation. While commercially focused, the role also incorporates key practice management responsibilities to ensure operational alignment with growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include (but Will Not Be Limited To)
Driving business development and marketing initiatives to strengthen brand awareness and grow referral networks
Introducing and developing the non-surgical treatments and hair restoration services the practice is now offering to their patients
Proactively identifying, developing and nurturing relationships with GPs, specialists and allied health referrers
Tracking and analysing referral sources, preparing insights-driven reports and recommending targeted growth strategies
Working closely with leadership to plan and implement integrated marketing campaigns and local area engagement activities
Identifying opportunities to enhance the patient acquisition funnel and conversion pathways
Overseeing and optimising the end-to-end patient journey from initial enquiry through to discharge to enhance experience and retention
Monitoring workflows and recommending process improvements that support growth and operational efficiency
Supporting the development and implementation of practice policies and procedures aligned with expansion objectives
Ensuring compliance standards are maintained across practice sites
Overseeing practice management systems, including software, IT, phone and imaging solutions, to ensure they effectively support marketing and service delivery outcomes
Coordinating surgeons' consulting schedules and theatre lists to maximise capacity and service availability
Liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists, surgical assistants and subcontractors to support seamless service coordination
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong blend of business development capability, marketing acumen and operational leadership within a healthcare environment.
Skills And Experience Required Include
Demonstrated experience as a Business Development Manager, Practice Manager and/or Nurse Manager within a medical or healthcare setting
Proven ability to build, grow and maintain strong referral networks and professional relationships
Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies, campaigns and local area engagement initiatives
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse referral data, interpret trends and translate insights into growth strategies
A solid understanding of the patient journey and strategies to enhance patient acquisition, conversion and retention
Experience overseeing practice operations, workflows and continuous improvement initiatives
Working knowledge of practice management software (Genie and/or Xestro and Eclipse)
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple Sunshine Coast sites
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with surgeons, medical professionals, hospitals and allied health providers
A proactive, self-driven approach with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with leadership
Remuneration
This position offers a competitive salary package of up to $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will enjoy a range of benefits including provided uniforms and on-site car parking.
