We are seeking a skilled practitioner to join our team in Rockhampton, Queensland, to provide critical support to individuals and families affected by elder abuse. As a part-time Elder Abuse Practitioner, you will be responsible for case management and community education initiatives to prevent elder abuse and its consequences.
This role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful change and empower vulnerable community members by raising awareness about signs and prevention of elder abuse. The successful candidate will combine case management and community education approaches to oversee program participation in your area.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Case Management: Gather information supportively, demonstrate theoretical knowledge of elder abuse, and make referrals to build a network of support.
2. Community Education: Promote awareness of elder abuse signs, develop rapport with community services and stakeholders, and advocate for the program.
Requirements:
* Undergraduate qualifications in social or behavioural sciences.
* Experience working with clients in various settings, applying case management in complex cases.
* Counselling experience and qualifications are advantageous.
