About the opportunity
In this key leadership role, you will report to the Sales Estimating Manager and be a key member of the Hunter operations team. The primary focus of this role will be to accurately audit building costs, reconciling provisional allowances within building contracts, and ensuring financial transparency throughout this process. Collaborating closely with stakeholders including construction, sales estimating, and finance, you will:
• Support project profitability and client satisfaction reviewing detailed cost estimates and resolve any oversights
• Analyse actual building costs against initial budgets and identify variances
• Update cost databases and benchmarking data to reflect current market rates
• Review and reconcile all provisional allowances within building contracts
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to verify costs and ensure compliance with contract terms
• Produce regular cost reports and variance analyses for sales estimating to manage tender allowances
• Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, quotes, invoices, and reconciliations
• Support the preparation of final accounts and project closeout documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and cost control processes
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values: Better Together, People Matter, Be Accountable and Think Bigger. In addition, you will demonstrate:
• Experience in residential construction estimating, cost analysis, financial accounting, project accounting or quantity surveying
• Some exposure to financial reconciliation and auditing processes
• An understanding of building contracts and provisional allowances
• Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
