About The Role
We are seeking a Marine Engineer to join our team on a seasonal basis from March to October/November 2026. This role involves maintaining marine assets, including vessels and pontoons, ensuring their productive and reliable operation. You will work on a rotational roster at our pontoon based in Talbot Bay, with days off spent in Broome.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine vessels and assets to ensure their continuous and reliable operation
- Upkeep and maintenance of the daily system running including generators, desal, STP and outboard motor maintenance
- Inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose issues that may arise in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Play an active role in implementing preventative maintenance programs to maximise asset performance and minimise downtime
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities through our digital asset management system (Helm), including logs, reports and documentation of all work performed
- Ensure compliance with marine safety regulations and company procedures
- Assist with the refuelling of vessels and aircraft at the pontoon
- Assist with the launching and docking of seaplanes at the pontoon
About You
As the ideal candidate you have an eye for detail and take pride in your work. You are both a collaborative team member and capable of working independently, using your initiative and problem-solving abilities. Your proactive, solution-oriented mindset and ‘can-do’ attitude will drive you to achieve optimal outcomes for business operations.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Prior experience as a Marine Engineer
- An AMSA issued Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 (MED 2) certification
- An AMSA issued Coxswain ticket at minimum
- A valid First Aid and CPR certificate, with remote first aid being advantageous
Fire training including a valid COST/STCW or advanced firefighting are considered highly desirable.
All candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as part of the onboarding stage.
