Associate Director, Library Experience and Research Services
A dynamic senior leader role that provides bold and strategic leadership to deliver a unified vision for library experiences and scholarly research services that advance the University's priorities in research excellence, student empowerment, innovation, and inclusive communities.
The Associate Director will lead a team of frontline client service officers and experts to deliver exceptional, equitable support and spaces that foster discovery, wellbeing and a sense of belonging. As a key liaison, they will bridge Scholarly Services with key stakeholders, ensuring seamless, high-quality service delivery and spaces that advance the University's priorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive inclusive, future-ready library experiences by leading high-performing teams, championing user-centred frontline service delivery, and shaping vibrant, welcoming spaces that foster discovery, belonging, and wellbeing.
* Strategically lead research service development and evaluation for diverse researcher communities forging strategic alliances to co-design innovative, responsive Library research services and programs.
* Cultivate a culture of service excellence and high-performing team engagement through strategic people management.
Your Profile
* An experienced senior leader with exceptional knowledge in Library client services and expert research services.
* Highly analytical and a proactive problem-solver, capable of autonomous judgment and strategic implementation.
* Able to navigate change, foster strong stakeholder relationships through effective consultation and communication, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Requirements
* A post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline and people management/supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience within the tertiary education sector or similar environment.
* Deep knowledge and leadership experience in the design and delivery of user-centred library services and expert research support programs, including space planning, service innovation, research data management, scholarly communication, digital preservation, open access and copyright.
