We are currently seeking applications for a Boiler Assistant located at Plane Creek Mill in the township of Sarina.
Located in North Queensland, Sarina offers a laid-back lifestyle, with stunning beaches and exciting outdoor adventures right at your doorstep. Whether you're into hiking, water sports, or just chilling by the beach, Sarina has it all waiting for you.
This is a permanent position in our sugar processing factory which requires shift work during the crushing season, including weekends, and day work only during the maintenance period.
As a Boiler Assistant, you'll be at the core of our operations—overseeing critical equipment, ensuring optimal steam generation, and maintaining plant efficiency. This hands-on role will keep you engaged, where you'll uphold safety protocols, drive performance standards, and play a key role in supporting smooth operations throughout the fast-paced crushing season.
Your Role in Action
* Teamwork on Tap: Collaborate closely with the Boiler Station & Shift Teams to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
* Steam Power Control: Take charge of turbine and auxiliary equipment start-ups and shut-downs—keeping the plant's energy flow in check.
* Bagasse System Mastery: Manage the vital Bagasse system with precision, ensuring smooth, efficient operations at all times.
* Troubleshoot Like a Pro: Inspect, troubleshoot, and handle boiler and auxiliary systems, reporting abnormalities to make sure everything is running at it's best
* Stay Ahead of Safety: Actively contribute to health and safety standards, from risk assessments to job safety analyses and participation in site safety programs.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Turbine Ticket
* Advance Boiler Ticket
* Working at Heights
* Confined Space
* Maintenance skills which are also highly desirable including any trade qualifications, Rigger, Dogger, and Scaffolder High Risk Work Licences
Don't think you have all the necessary experience? We'd still love to hear from you if you have a keen attitude and are willing to learn new skills and we will develop you into our ideal candidate.
The successful applicant will also be required to undertake further training to complete the appropriate Boiler Assistant station and maintenance competencies.
