The Role
Correctional Officers work within a supportive team environment where no two shifts are the same. Their key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring the safety, well-being, security, and rehabilitation of inmates through daily tasks and duties.
* Performing daily accountability routines, including muster, head checks, and ongoing observation of offenders.
* Conducting searches and other detection activities to find and remove contraband from facilities or court complexes.
* Managing inmates' requests for services or escalating them when necessary.
* Supervising offender activities in designated work, living, or approved zones.
Locations
We are currently accepting applications for the following locations: Bathurst, Lithgow, Kirkconnell, and Oberon correctional centers.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
* Be at least 18 years old.
* Hold a current driver's license (P1 or above).
* Be an Australia or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
* Meet the medical standards for a correctional officer and have a reasonable level of fitness.
* Have no visible body art or modifications on the face, scalp, ears, neck, or hands.
